Bob joined Echelon Consulting Group in early 2002, after a distinguished 18 year career as a restorative dentist in private practice in Sarasota Florida. 

Bob’s strong background in dentistry and management training focuses on the business and management issues that dentists face in practice today.  His strengths are developing a trusting relationship, bringing clarity to any issue, and creating concrete next steps.  He has been trained as a dentist, trained as a course leader, trained as a coach, and has managed several dental practices.  This allows him to be the confidential trusted advisor, sounding board, and coach to many dentists, where he balances support with challenges.  He helps his clients master the essential leadership, management, and interpersonal skills critical for successful dental practices today.

Recent projects include:

• Provided a dental specialist with a peace of mind, by helping him organize his business and personal space.  Introduced business systems using QuickBooks that helped the doctor understand accounting standards.

• Helped a general dentist double his production with the purchase of another practice and with the transition and logistics of merging his existing staff and practice into the new practice. 

• Guided a senior dentist in up-grading his dental management systems in preparation for the eventual successful sale of his practice.

• Coached a mid-career dentist in his purchase of an existing dental practice and integrating his practice and business philosophies with the existing staff and patients while increasing production by 50%.

Bob earned his Doctoral Degree in Dental Surgery from the Ohio State University, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, from the Ohio State University as well.  He was a frequent participant in post-graduate continuing education programs with Dr. Peter Dawson and the L. D. Pankey Institute in Miami.  Since selling his practice in 1987 he has engaged in various educational and management consulting activities.  More recently he has completed a one year coaching course at the Coaches Training Institute of San Rafael CA.
